We Come In Peace

Very happy to announce the formation of a new band featuring me on piano, Daniel Franck on bass and Jakob Høyer on drums.
Music is strange as life is. Mystery and the most obvious at the same time. About a year ago, I played with Daniel in another setting and was struck by how easy and immediate communication was.
“We need to play again! Soon.” Definitely. It took some time but when we did, we did it together with drummer Jakob Høyer, also based in Copenhagen. Boom! Mystery and clarity again, in an even stronger way this time. I didn't realize how I've missed playing in this way. I got the same feeling I got back in mid 90's when playing in the Lundin / Danemo Quartet. I love to play with this huge amount of freedom that demands total presence since you are architects that construct buildings in real time that no one ever seen before but that have to have structure and must be build with knowledge in stability. The magic of improvised music is to have access to a language where you build common aesthetics, logic as you go along and move like one organism. I feel blessed to experience this and truly privileged to do this for a living. I hope to play live with the band soon again, until then I'm writing some music for us in a way I haven't done before. The focus is on writing songs that points you in a direction with lot of space to create within. I don't think of it like writing structures but more of like creating moods and identities that we either can respect or completely neglect.
The name of the band is “We Come In Peace” and that's the only constant to keep in mind.
